Neorem Magnets Oy was founded in 1995, but our roots are further in the past, as our predecessor, Outokumpu Magnets Oy, was established already in 1988 as a part of Outokumpu, a global multimetal company. We have manufactured sintered NdFeB magnets under the Hitachi Metals licence (Sumitomo licence at the time of acquisition) since 1991.
Our subsidiary, Neorem Magnets Ningbo Co., Ltd, was established in 2004 to further process magnet blocks manufactured at our factory in Finland. Since 2009 Neorem Magnets Ningbo has also assembled magnet pole elements.
In 2004 we were also one of the founding partners of Magnet Technology Centre in Pori. This research centre is situated in the vicinity of Neorem Magnets strengthening the local expertise in the magnet technology.
In 2007 Neorem Magnets became a part of Vacuumschmelze GmbH & Co. KG. With this transaction the position of the European NdFeB magnet production became stronger than ever.
